The Sxwi’em’ Shelh Story Trails Land-based Education Team unites Land-based education specialists, community leaders, and community members to foster cultural learning and connection to the Land. Led by educators Mar and Riley McIntosh, the team blends Traditional knowledge, community engagement, and experiential learning. Supported by skilled facilitators, each project stream honors Indigenous teachings, strengthens intergenerational learning, and creates meaningful opportunities for all ages.

Over the past 15 years, Mar McIntosh has developed and implemented Land-based inclusive education programs throughout New York City and Vancouver Island. Specifically since 2018, Mar has worked within experiential curriculum alongside Stz’uminus First Nation and Penelakut Tribe and has made it a focus to create programs that celebrate youth, adult, and Elder engagement.

Over the past 10 years, Riley has designed, funded, and implemented progressive project offerings on reserve. Riley aims to strengthen communities by building projects that bring people together on the land in a healing environment.
