Sulhween Snuwuyulh Elder Stories Program

Sulhween Snuw’uy’ulh Elder Stories Program was a Land-based, inclusive, experiential program where youth, adults, and Elders from Penelakut Tribe and Stz’uminus First Nation engaged in oral storytelling out on the Land. Elders were invited to come and share knowledge and teachings from their individual experiences and connect within Hul’q’umi’num’ language learning. This program’s purpose was to deepen understandings of oral histories and protocols; learn from Penelakut Tribe and Stz’uminus First Nation Elders; and with permission, document these stories in the form of an Experiential book, audio recordings, and film.
